Taltney Designs creates designer jewelry in semi-precious stone, wood, glass, crystals and precious metals. No plastics or pot-metals are used in these creations. Each necklace, bracelet or pair of earrings is an original and will never be duplicated. The beads and stones used are also genuine and I will always tell you if they are man-made or color-enhanced.

Necklace Sets I learned long ago that almost every woman wants the option of matching her earrings to her necklace. Therefore, every necklace I make comes with a pair of complementary earrings. The earrings are included in the price displayed with the necklace. I don't separate the sets since there are many times when the beads are so unique I could not replace the earrings. If you like a pair of earrings but don't want the necklace set, just email me and I will see if I can create something similar just for you. |
The Button-On Bracelet One of the more unique designs that I specialize in is the Button-On Bracelet. Using antique or vintage glass buttons as the inspiration, I create two and four strand bracelets using the finest gemstones and silver or 14 kt gold-filled beads. Each of these bracelets are unique and are never reproduced exactly so you can tell your friends that you are wearing a "designer original".... because you are! |

Flowers Another unique product you will find periodically in my designs is the flower necklace. Made with semi-precious gemstones, crystal and pearls. My designs range from a single bud to a complete lei. My designs will also vary from others you will find on the web because I use strictly sterling silver or 14 kt gold filled wire. Base metals give me a rash and I wouldn't want anyone else to suffer that problem either. If you want to see the quality of one of these necklaces always turn it over. I pride myself on keeping the wire work mostly invisible. I have seen other designs that looked like a "rat's nest" underneath the beads. This is not good design and it is uncomfortable to wear as well. |
And I paint too.... About seven years ago I discovered that my ability to combine colors and patterns in jewelry also extended to paint. Whenever the mood takes me I create abstract and impressionist pieces that are full of color and structure. Keep checking to see if the mood has struck recently. |

My Real Job A lot of people have found it fairly interesting that although I love to make and sell jewelry and art, my "real" job is that of a chemistry professor at Florida State University. I received a B.A. in Theatre in 1994, a B.S. in Biochemistry in 1996 and a pH. D. in Chemistry in 2002. Throughout it all I always maintained my love for the beads.... |
Crazy Rings On occasion I will make some rings and post them to the site. During the 1970's my aunts and grandmother all started crocheting these strange little beaded rings that looked like a pom-pom on your finger. Well, I can't crochet but I can certainly weave. The rings I make are woven from sterling and 14 kt gold filled wire and although they sometimes look like a pom-pom they are generally more elegant than that. Just keep a look out for them as the next time I am feeling a little crazy I will probably make a few.... |
